M loves to move. She's not a sitting still kind of kid by any stretch of the imagination. She's rolling, crawling, pulling up, and asking you to help her walk from the minute she gets up until she passes out. For about 2 months now, she's been "walking" with our assistance. Basically she holds onto our fingers and walks wherever she wants to go. She also kicks a ball (or whatever is in her way). She'll kick it and walk up to it and kick it again. And she can keep this up for a while. We bought her a walker over a month ago and it's a lifesaver. You can only walk with a hunched over back for so long. She zooms around in it and runs over the dogs feet while munching on cheerios.
We've moved away from most baby food (I know, last time I posted, she wouldn't touch it.) She got used to it and will also feed herself a pouch. Lately though, she wants what we're eating, so we give it to her. Her first meal was meatloaf, green beans, and mashed potatoes. All of which she devoured. Then we did chicken noodle soup, sausage & tomato pasta, and even tuna steak. She's loved them all and thankfully we haven't had any issues. She got to join us on Thanksgiving with turkey and stuffing and she LOVED it.
Christmas is right around the corner and we're so excited to watch M open gifts. They wont be extravagant because she's got no idea what is going on, but it will be fun to let her tear paper and squeal. She's been pointing at the tree and laughing and clapping already. Having someone else that you can watch enjoy the holidays makes it all even better than before! We've been dressing M up in her Christmas garb as much as possible. There's a marketing gimmick. Holiday clothes for children that they can only wear for one holiday. Guilty. Dammit...
This past weekend we had some visitors from Seattle! My brother K and his fiancee M were in for a quick Christmas visit. They haven't seen Munchkin since she was a month old, so this was an exciting trip. I was excited to see them interact with each other and it was fabulous. Munchkin loved them both and squealed with delight - she she was pretty taken with them!
We also had Munchkin baptized while they were here, since they are her Godparents and all. Super fun fact - Marin's grandpa Tim is also a Deacon in the church so he was able to baptize her himself, which was amazing and so perfect.
It's been a fabulous couple of months but they're flying by. I can't believe we're already looking at her first birthday! Slow down little M, slow down! You have plenty of time to be a big kid. And I want more baby cuddles.
