It's almost time! We only have 5 weeks left (or less!) until you're here. You're getting so big now, when you move, you shift my whole stomach. You get the hiccups a lot and your dad thinks this is hysterical. He loves to lay his head on my belly and listen to the little hiccups. Bailey also knows you're coming. She protects me everywhere I go and often lays her head on my belly. I think she's listening to your heart beat.
"Mom are you okay?"
I can't even put into words how excited your Dad and I are. Sometimes it seems surreal.. then I look down at my belly and realize that you're with me every day.
We joke that when we leave the hospital, we'll look in the backseat and think "Oh $%$, someone put their kid in our car! Where are the parents?" We'll then look at each other and realize WE are YOUR parents! There's not a whole lot scarier than that. It's a great scary though, something we've been looking forward to for a long time. We can't wait to watch you grow and become the amazing person we know you will be.
We finished your room this weekend. I love it. I can sit in there for hours and stare at everything, just thinking about when you'll get here and fill up these spaces meant for tiny people.
Some people who you'll come to know and love threw a baby shower for us this weekend. It's amazing to see people who have never met you get so excited about your arrival. You are blessed to be surrounded by them. They have spoiled us with love, very tiny pink outfits (much to your dad's protesting) and everything else we could possibly need to take care of you.
Just one of the drawers full of clothes waiting for you
Of course, your Dad is more excited about these.
No matter which you prefer, soccer cleats or hair bows (possibly both?), we can't wait for you to get here.
Hurry up!!! No really, take as long as you need. As long as its before March 1st, cause that's when I'll serve up your eviction notice.
And I want a beer.
Love you much -
Your large bellied Mom
