2 Months! (a little late)

Happy 2 Month Birthday little munchkin! I can't believe you've only been with us for 8 short weeks. I can't imagine life without you!

You're starting to smile and laugh when you see us, which makes my heart light up. I love to see your face when your dad talks to you. We call you Munchkin, which you seem to love. Okay I lied, we call you all kinds of crazy names. I'm always coming up with something random to call you. You seem to love them all. Or just our voices. I bet it's that.
Smiles!

We went to the Dr for your first shots at 6 weeks - let me tell you, that is heart breaking, but you did so well! The nurse said "she'll only cry for a minute" but that minute felt like years. Your dad went with me to the appointment because I knew it would be hard for me. He held your arms while the nurse gave you 3 shots in your legs. The blood curdling cries made my heart hurt and as soon as you were done I took you from him so I could hold you while you cried it out. But you slept the rest of the day and gave us some good smiles, so all in all, it was okay. I can't wait to do it again at your 4 month appt... yay...

**new parents with cranky babies, skip this paragraph or you will hate me**
Last week you started a new trend - sleeping through the night!! It probably helps that you've found your thumb and are able to self sooth through the night, but you're at a healthy weight (12+ lbs) and happy so I'm not worried. You sleep 10 hours now, from 9-7 and your dad and I love you even more for it.

As for me - I've realized that I'm not eating enough... getting 2200 calories a day is a serious change in my world. I've started counting calories to make sure I'm eating enough. (You burn around 500 calories a day when you're nursing) I'm working on it, but when you forget to eat breakfast and lunch, its a challenge. Noah is good at reminding me to grab a snack. It's hard when I want to work out and get back in shape but I can't go burn an additional 500 calories cause then I'd have to find a way to eat that back in. It's a balance. I'm struggling but learning.

Up next - real life. I'm headed back to work.
